Challenge
Shifting organizational mindsets and creating action on newly developed cross-functional teams in an evolving environment of change leadership and culture.
Intervention
Through Regina’s coaching and professional development training, I’ve gained new tools and a broader ability to generate positive change in the organization.
To help solve for my challenge, I developed forums for collaboration and driving change by clearly communicating a team model. Operational framework, establishing accountability, and characterizing team member roles encouraged cross-pollination and sharing. This also allowed teams to identify opportunities and challenges as it related to:
· understanding the importance of prioritization and letting go of previously integral activities in place of new more impactful ones
· developing cross-functional activities for greater impact
· connecting to organizational goals
· creating opportunities for leadership buy-in and support
These forums allowed for communication, organization, and positive change - providing clarity for both leadership and team members alike.
Specific to this challenge, I utilized the increased confidence I gained from Inner Authentic Voice exercises to express my points of view; recognizing that my opinions are important to the organization.
Outcome/Impact
A key takeaway from my work with Regina is that action breeds clarity. It is important to keep moving even during times of change because it is crucial to take the next right step even when the outcome is not yet clear.
The team’s project started out with multiple directions, many starts and stops, and confusion; but now we head into the new year with clear direction, a new team framework and witnessing a more collaborative and integrated team approach.
When building something new, an intuitive strategic approach is essential.
